Summary

The Law Firm Investigator will be responsible for conducting investigations in the field for gathering information about a person, place, or situations. They will work as a part of the investigating team and are involved in gathering valuable information from the scene of the incident and investigate the situation by gathering evidence and witnesses that bring forward the truth about the event.


Essential Functions

  • Conduct investigations for cases and make recommendations on additional field tasks that may provide more information in support of our clients
  • Record interviews, take photos, conduct activities checks, and perform detailed surveillance of the accident site for evidence
  • Collaborate with others to ensure unbiased investigations, including speaking with witnesses and medical experts
  • Investigate complex claims and events involving injuries and property damage and prepare the investigation report based on findings
  • Review investigations thoroughly, looking for loopholes or other evidence to support our clients
  • Combine information into one unbiased report that outlines the findings and draws a conclusion about the incident
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a process of continuous improvement
  • Follow practices and processes that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company standards, and serve the needs of our clients
  • Perform other duties within the team member’s training and skills as directed

Competencies

  • Previous experience in the field is required
  • Previous law enforcement experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, or other related field preferred
  • Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Leadership or Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate personal accountability
  • Contribute towards the success of others
  • No direct supervision

Physical Demands, Work Environment and Other Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, driving, and working on a computer
  • Valid drivers license and insurance
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be willing to travel extensively to various locations
