Job summary:

Laser Technician will apply knowledge of lasers and related knowledge to assist set-up, development, and troubleshooting of processes requiring the use of laser processing. Laser Technician is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Utilize software to optimally nest parts of cut sheets
• Keep laser operating with steady flow
• Problem solving and troubleshooting
• Inspect product as per quality standards, monitoring cutting quality and making necessary adjustments
• Performs light maintenance and repair to equipment used.
• Moves and positions materials at work site with help of other workers.
• Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of laser / fabrication area.

Job Requirements:

• A qualified candidate will have an Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
• Must be able to stand continuously, walk/kneel/crouch/maintain balance frequently over the course of a 10 hour shift.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must have manual dexterity and be able to maintain a continuous firm grip.
• Must be able to pass a physical strength test to perform the job.
• Forklift certification or ability to receive certification.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
• Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the required areas.
