Position Description:
Position Summary: The Land Acquisitions/Development Associate leads all business activities required to sourcing and acquiring tracts of land suited to the investment parameters of the MP Housing Companys development projects in the State of Texas.The LDA is responsible for closing the sales of land by meeting with prospective sellers, reviewing internal and proprietary data lists and investment requirements, obtaining public and semi-public infrastructure information from municipalities, CCNs and other Utility Districts, submitting approved Letters of Intent to potential land sellers, working through the Purchase and Sale Agreement process, and taking the necessary steps to monitor and facilitate closings.
This position is responsible for engaging in dialogue with prospective sellers. In addition, the LDA will need to communicate how our communities bring value to the seller(s) and manage through the process in conjunction with Chief Investment Officer, Director of Construction and/or Director of Development.
This position is responsible for the acquisition of new development sites for our new communities in the designated region. This position is responsible for working with the community development teams and 3rd party vendors to lead and be ultimately responsible for the closing of land transactions.

The willingness to cold call a Land Owner
Must be able to work with minimum supervision and a high degree of self-control to maintain a composed, problem-solving approach when faced with controversial issues and pressing time demands
Must be able to relate well to others across functional business units to build rapport
The ability to use active listening skills with critical and analytical thinking to understand residents requirements and needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have focused, outstanding customer service skills to attend to residents needs and preferences and to keep Company and resident information confidential
The ability to quickly recover from disappointment or rejection
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and online advertising and marketing platforms such as Craigslist, Zillow, CoStar and others

The individual in this position will impact the companies growth in the area of new construction projects by securing land for development. The position will be incentivized and compensated with generous commission plus base salary.
