Job description
Manages the Chemistry Laboratory to provide prompt and accurate analyses of all raw materials and finished products, to develop new analytical techniques as required, and to provide support for QA/QC functions, partners with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality control departments as well as external suppliers and customers. Duties include routine material analysis, methods development, supervision of laboratory personnel and purchasing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine methods for the routine analyses of raw materials and finished products.
- Assume responsibility for the calibration, operation, and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and equipment Develop and maintain a library of certified reference materials when such materials exist; develop a library of secondary reference materials when certified reference materials do not exist.
- Implements Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE)
- Partners with supplier base to develop continual improvement/cost reduction opportunities; develops and maintains various processes related to cost reduction, product development, and continuous improvement
- Leads the total effort with planning work and utilizing resources within the Lab to maximize the efficiency and quality of work performed; develops and coordinates activities to ensure production goals and compliance standards are met
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of the lab staff to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner; communicates and enforces various policies, procedures, and requirements
- Assists lab assistants and Technicians with calibration, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all laboratory instruments and equipment
- Develops and maintains the laboratory NADCAP accreditation
- Develop and maintain appropriate quality systems within the laboratory.
- Participates in external and internal audits
- Continually monitor current advances in analytical technology and recommend purchases and modifications as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
