Position Summary:

Assist the Pharmacy Manager with directing the Center of Excellence pharmacy staff in the areas of workflow, procedure, scheduling, accuracy, and overall department operations. Perform and oversee EPRN centralized prescription processing and associated record keeping activities. Ensure that accurate and efficient Center of Excellence pharmacy service is provided for our customers and store pharmacy partners. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions;

  • Communicate with the Pharmacy Manager regarding any operational issues, suggestions and/or repairs
  • Work with the Pharmacy Manager to resolve quality concerns, including appropriate documentation
  • Commit 80% of schedule on working as a traditional Center of Excellence pharmacist processing orders in EPRN and 20% on Supervisory duties
  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with periodic review of policies and procedures and update as needed
  • Participate in the interview process, new hire orientation, and new hire training
  • Oversee and provide leadership and direction for the Staff Pharmacists and Technicians
  • Scheduling for Staff Pharmacists and Technicians
  • Ensure patient information is handled in a HIPAA compliant manner
  • Serve as the site representative for the Center of Excellence Pharmacy Accuracy Committee
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports
  • Ensure Center of Excellence pharmacy standards and services provided are in compliance with DEA, State, and Federal pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • (B.S.) Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy or (Pharm.D.) Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Must be a licensed Pharmacist in good standing with State Boards of Pharmacy
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
  • Familiar with industry/technical terms and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of DEA, State, and Federal pharmacy laws
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Retail and/or mail order pharmacy experience
  • Experience with centralized prescription processing
  • Two years or more experience in a management or supervisory role
