A Scientific Equipment Service (repair) Technician will be expected to perform preventative maintenance inspections, safety inspections and repairs on a variety of scientific equipment of various manufactures.
You must be willing to travel within the tri-state area and New England to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment to determine the type of repair or adjustment required.
- Determines correct parts and/or components required to complete repairs.
- Replace or repair defective parts; may require modification or manufacturing replacement components. Reassembles equipment and performs appropriate testing for company, industry and client conformance.
- Performs calibrations.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts.
- Required test equipment and electronics, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Exhibit knowledge of Service manuals, schematics and other applicable information.
- Exhibit knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC controls.
- Participates in Holiday on-call rotation.
- Travel to our main office in Lindenhurst, New York for quarterly meetings and events, meetings and trainings as required.
Qualifications:
- Work experience of 1+ years in a service / repair environment
- Basic organizational and troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional client relations
- Basic computer / iPad skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, peers and management
- Willingness to learn and advance
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work overtime, holidays, nights and weekends when required
