CSA is seeking an instructor responsible for teaching Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) classes. This position supports the Joint Deployment Training Center (JDTC) and provides instruction in residence at Ft. Eustis, VA and mobile training supporting CONUS/OCONUS locations.
Responsibilities
- Conducts training in residence (Fort Eustis), mobile (CONUS/OCONUS) and virtual (DCS, VTC, and LMS).
- Serves as subject matter experts at internal and external meetings, conferences, or working groups.
- Participates during exercises as over-the-shoulder trainers and assist with exercise design and development.
- Provides instruction as a two-person team but may be required to perform individually.
- Provides subject matter expertise to curriculum review, internal and external meetings, conferences and working groups.
- Provides support in the curriculum development process, answers JOPES questions, and reviews curriculum with minimal assistance
Minimum Qualifications
- Familiarity with adult learning theories and Instructional System Design (ISD) in order to assist in validating and improving curriculum and instructional aids.
- Ability to present in various classroom settings.
- Knowledge and experience in event After Action Report (AAR) products and procedures.
- Knowledge and ability to develop and present briefs for problem resolution.
- Experienced in Joint Training System and service or combatant command major exercises.
- Associate degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience; or bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience; or No degree with at least 7 years warfighting operational experience.
- Four (4) years’ experience in JOPES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there is minimal exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment.

PAY RANGE:
Pay Range 36.77
