Position Description
Helps administer the Illinois Youth Improvement Program/Summer Youth Employment Program through coaching employee-participants, facilitating job readiness activities, and ensuring compliance with program grant reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Operational Excellence
- Engage IYIP participants in job readiness and skill development activities
- Maintains and updates participants' individualized cases plans
- Assess, work with, and coach participants in Illinois Essential Employability Skills
- Regularly monitors participants' skill development and progress.
- Reviews and prepares employee correspondence and other related documentation.
- Assists with maintaining and updating participants' individualized cases plans and assessments to include, but not limited to Illinois Essential Employability Skills, Case Life Skills Assessment, and Worksite Professional Skills Assessment
- Assists with maintaining Illinois WorkNet system for all participants
- Works with Supervisors to ensure accurate timesheets of participants
- Assist with providing supportive services to program participants
- As requested, creates documents, reports, etc., using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Illinois WorkNet to assist information flow within the program
- Maintains a working knowledge of Rockford Park District personnel policies and protocols.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Rockford Park District safety procedures. Attend safety training programs and educational in-service trainings as required.
- Assists in engaging and enrolling at-risk youth into C-SYEP program
- Maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Conducts regular check ins and workplace visits with program participants
- Conducts regular check ins with workplace supervisors
- Assist customers and program participants as needed.
High School diploma and 1-3 years of relevant job experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials; establishing priorities; and meeting deadlines.
- General knowledge of recruiting, hiring and onboarding a diverse workforce, to include at-risk youth
- Excellent spelling, grammar and, oral and written communication skills.
