IT Technician - Onsite at Alpharetta, GA

Lab Support Services

This position is within the Digital Technologies (DT) and will report to Pool Lead, Technical Services Delivery.

Delivery of day-to-day support service to users of plant Quality Control Lab and Research & Innovation Centers.

He/She Will:

  • Know, understand, and follow the processes concerning Lab PCs
  • Understand who is in charge of what globally including but not limited to:
  • R&I Service Line Team
  • Worldwide eWP Lab team - local/country organization
  • Wisdom provider (Regional Service Desk and On Site Support) and how to work with these teams
  • Collaboratively working with other regional and global teams including but not limited to ISSCs, regional delivery organizations, business contacts and other stakeholders
  • Rules and processes for escalations
  • Manage/supervise Wisdom provider activities related to Lab PCs and equipment as required to include troubleshooting, new deployments, and replacements of Lab PCs.
  • Support laboratory PCs in the region
  • This includes providing level 1 and 2 support for troubleshooting of issues on Lab equipment and applications
  • Support the required governance defined with the R&I Service Line - this means to evaluate with global teams the opportunity to migrate Lab PCs to the Solvay standard from stand alone PCs
  • Keep Lab PC inventory up to date along with all software installations related to the laboratory functions
  • Collection of internal user needs for Lab operations & improvement.
  • New Lab PC setup to Lab devices and LAB PC data backup and restore.
  • Contribute to processes design and optimization.
  • Participation in global and zone IS projects.
  • Work closely with Internal users, local and regional Infrastructure Support Teams, development and project teams and external lab service vendors.
  • Full time onsite is required in Alpharetta.

Profile

Degree in Computer Science / IT Management / Business Computing.

  • 3 years’ experience in Lab Device site support or Process Automation or Chemical engineering field.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems.
  • Understanding of Process Automation will be advantage.
  • Understanding of Research & Innovation or Quality Control Lab operations will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge or support experience of Chronograph / Spectrometer /Lab equipments will be an advantage.
  • Understanding or experience on SCADA / DCS / PLC will be an advantage.
  • Good command in English (written and spoken).
  • Travelling - Required to travel 20% of the time to Solvay sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
