IT Senior Analyst (Developer II)

General Knowledge:
The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) at the Connecticut General Assembly (CGA) is seeking a Senior Analyst/Developer with experience in translating business requirements into technical specifications, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications in a highly interactive production environment.
Skills and Experience:
Expert-level programming skills in C#, VB.NET, html/JavaScript, responsive web development, jQuery, Bootstrap and API development. Visual Studio 2019 or higher and knowledge of source control. Full understanding of object-oriented design and development principles within the .NET framework. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. High level of business application literacy with Office 365 applications.
Responsibilities:
Participates in or coordinates project planning sessions with customers, analysts and team members to analyze requirements, define and design scope, and provide design recommendations for moderately complex systems. Analyzes upgrades for applications to determine functionality and necessary software customization. Engages in the development of new software applications. Designs forms, screens and reports. Provides database support and troubleshooting as it relates to application development and support. Troubleshoots and resolves software development related production problems. Prepares test data, performs system tests, and debugs and corrects errors. Participates in the evaluation, technical consultation, and/or integration efforts associated with new software and hardware technologies. Performs other duties as assigned
