IT Manager, Web Development

Mill Steel - Grand Rapids, Michigan

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with business leadership, designers, and developers to identify the requirements for new web/mobile applications or enhancements.

• Facilitate the gathering of functional requirements, develop implementation strategies, and provide the development and design teams with clear direction and timelines.

• Coordinate and resolve resource, schedule, and prioritization issues among team members and help set business timing expectations.

• Manage and execute application development projects from beginning to end.

• Establish team schedules and lead the activities to deliver against stated objectives.

• Be responsible for recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising performance.

• Act in alignment with user needs and application functionality to contribute to organizational growth and effectiveness.

• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A proven ability to learn and adopt new technologies and skillsets.

• Demonstrated experience managing an application development team.

• Experience and proven success in systems and application infrastructure design.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Understanding of modern standards in mobile and web development practices.

• Experience leading web or mobile development teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, or equivalent experience.

• User experience design, user interface design, wireframing, user testing and leading stakeholder workshops.

• Front-end JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, Angular or React.js), HTML5, and CSS preprocessors

• Project management skills in Agile development practices (Scrum, SAFe, Lean, etc).

• Experience writing and consuming RESTful APIs for web/microservices architectures (Node.js and Express).

• Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED

• Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps understanding.

• Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate knowledge.
