Job Title: IOD Lab Technician
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Summary of Position:
Alcon is looking to hire a IOD Lab Technician to join our Product Design and Development Team in Fort Worth, TX. You will be responsible for the creation of engineering drawings and parts, drafting of protocols and execution of testing of prototypes, and general laboratory maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting engineers in the design, modification, and improvement of products/processes

Identify and recommending improvements/preventive actions, inspecting, testing, maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment and systems.

Monitors processes, estimates costs, makes or verifies calculations, analyzes and interprets data.

Tests new and modified products, processes, and/or systems.

Working with engineers to create concepts, layouts and detailed mechanisms, structures, and parts for product components, portions of a functional system/manufacturing operation, or technically advanced prototype.

Using PTC Creo Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) software during the conceptual design process.

Assist in the design and evaluation of major components, or major portions of a functional system, or technically advanced prototype, promotional or specific products.

Help identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to engineers or designers.

Develop basic data and makes layouts, sketches, and note necessary to present design proposal.

Make layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products.

Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Key Requirements/Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs;

Assoc.+4 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
