A growing Des Moines-based company is seeking a Full-Time Inventory Specialist for its office In Peoria IL. This position reports to the Vice President of Purchasing and Merchandising. Requirements of the Inventory Specialist:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, data solving and typing skills
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Proficient keyboarding skills.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
- Experience with accounting software is beneficial.
The Inventory Specialist will maintain the organization’s inventory records of all procurements.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received
- Matches invoices to receiving sheet and verify invoice price versus received price.
- Work with store managers to research and correct discrepancies between invoice and receiver sheet.
- Manages and maintains inventory tracking spreadsheet to make sure all receivers are accounted for at month end.
- Assist with month end inventory reconciliation.
Perform other related duties as required.
- Assist with other audits as needed.
- Provide backup support to Accounts Payable Specialist.
