Job Summary

Athena Care is seeking an Interventional Psychiatry Technician for our Nashville location. In this role you will observe and attend to patients undergoing interventional medical services. This role must be able to collect vital signs and document patient information; prior experience as a Medical Assistant or CNA provides a strong foundation for skills needed in this role.

Core Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists patients by preparing for TMS and Spravato treatments
  • Assists with treatment as directed and in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Monitors patient’s vital signs and mental status during treatment as outlined in protocols
  • Conducts COVID-19 tests, urine drug screens, and other screening instruments as necessary
  • Appropriately documents in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality, as well as compliance with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, etc)
  • Administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering multi-line phone system, relaying messages in a timely manner, communicating with both in house and outpatient treatment providers
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-year prior healthcare experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current Medical Assistant or CNA certification preferred.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required, or must be obtained by hire date.

  • Knowledge of medications, standard medical procedures, and administrative procedures.
  • Ability to effectively measure patient vitals (I.e. blood pressure) and perform procedures such as specimen collection.

Physical Requirements

This is an office-type role with primarily sedentary job duties and limited reaching, pulling, pushing, or carrying. This job requires the use of medical equipment used to take patient vitals, perform venipuncture, and take specimen samples for other tests.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
