Ag Processing Inc (AGP) is seeking an Internal Auditor in Omaha, NE. Under the general supervision of the Audit Manager, you will develop a growing responsibility for ensuring that audits address areas of concern relative to the goals, performance objectives, and policies/procedures of the company.

In this fulfilling and exciting role you will:

• Audit a variety of accounting, financial, and operating records, along with procedures using professional accounting and auditing principles.
• Identify the key control points of the system by utilizing survey functions and activities to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of internal control to achieve established objectives.
• Determine, or assist in determining, the scope, direction and thrust of the proposed audit, including the procedures and program to be used.
• Obtain, analyze and appraise evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency or performance of the activities being reviewed.
• Verify reports against source records to determine reliability.
• Assist with the investigation of alleged fraud and material misconduct.
• Perform, or assist in the performance of, special audits at the request of Corporate Audit Management. This would include support work provided to the external auditors.
• Perform research to locate and summarize laws and ordinances or review legal summaries to determine if the program being evaluated is in compliance.
• Serve in an expanded role in audit functions and responsibilities due to a greater understanding of policies and procedures, auditing standards and relationships with other AGP partners.

Ideal candidates will be professionals who meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or equivalent
• Obtained or plans to certify as CPA, CIA preferred
• 2+ years of auditing experience
• Knowledge of agricultural production and manufacturing industry
• Effective communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels
• Superb problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent planning, organizing, and communication skills
• Technology skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database, auditing and accounting software
• Ability to travel as needed to AGP locations for auditing purposes
