About You
You’re someone who is always figuring out how to break things. You must know how everything works. When told not to press the big red button, you did it anyways just to see what it would do.
When at work, you leave no rock unturned. There isn’t a scenario you haven’t planned for.
You’re easy to approach, and you’re not afraid to ask questions to anyone about anything work related. You write well and know how to give constructive feedback.
Job Details
Your job will be to ensure that ThinkOn’s in-house developed software systems are as close to perfect as possible before production changes are made. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating test strategies for various components of a user portal.
- Writing and carrying out and automating end to end tests with a framework like Cypress.io.
- Writing integration testing with tools like Mockito.
- Providing feedback to software developers using comments within Gitlab
- Manufacturing data that can be put into a test or staging environment to carry out consistent testing.
- Prioritize testing based on perceived or known risk.
- Act as an advisor to both the management team, and team members. We will rely on your expertise and best practices to make sure our code is bug free.
Job Requirements
Education
It’s great if you have a post secondary education in a software development/testing or mathematics related field, but not a requirement for the position.
Experience
- 2+ Years of experience as a software tester
- Having worked on fairly large project in a team of more than 5 people.
Technical Skills
- You know Javascript, or at least one programming language that’s normally used in writing tests.
- You’ve worked with end to end test frameworks like Cypress.io, Selenium, or Cucumber.
- You’ve worked with a source code repository before that uses GIT (Github, Gitlab).
- In an interview setting, you can describe work you’ve done in various test cycles in the past including Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, and End to End Testing
Soft Skills
- You can be both gentle and constructive in your communication with teammates.
- You can teach people some of the strong fundamentals you have in an manner that is easy to understand.
