LSI currently seeks an Interaction Support Worker within our Family Centered Services program in the Burlington and southwest area area. This position supports children and families in their communities. The position will require afternoon, evening and weekend availability.
DUTIES
The Interaction Support Worker supports the Family Support Specialist to ensure families receive the required level of services, supports and resources to achieve identified family goals for safety, permanency and well-being, and ensure timely and safe reunification. The Interaction Support Worker is primarily responsible for facilitating and monitoring supervised family interactions, as well as providing transportation. Meet with assigned families in person via traveling by car to their homes or other community settings and contact by telephone, which may occur during normal business hours, after hours, or on weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: High school diploma and one year experience in human services/child welfare services. Associates degree in social work, sociology, psychology, human services, criminal justice, counseling, family therapy, family services, family studies, child & family services, human relations, chemical dependency counselor, nursing, special education, elementary education, secondary education, law enforcement administration, or political science. Any degree not listed does not meet requirements. Six months of full-time experience in human services required in combination with approved AA degree.
OR
Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, human services, criminal justice, counseling, family therapy, family services, child & family services, human relations, chemical dependency counselor, nursing, special education, elementary education, secondary education, law enforcement administration, or political science.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
