Position Overview:
New Horizons is looking for a Full-Time Integrated Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders (ITCD) Specialist/Therapist to develop and implement co-occurring disorder psychoeducation groups and individual interventions for adults with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. The ITCD Specialists/Therapist will also complete assessments and screenings for referrals and established consumers. - Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Participate in the supervisory on-call rotation.
- Training: Will be trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Wellness Coaching, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Illness Management and Recovery. Will be trained in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) nonviolent crisis intervention techniques.

Job duties include but not limited to:
- Provide group and individual therapy/clinical interventions for consumers.
- Offer clinical expertise, consultation, and training to the treatment team as it relates to co-occurring disorders.
- Provide interventions to assist consumers with identifying and meeting their goals, learning new skills, and improving their coping and symptom management skills.
- Assist consumers to develop interpersonal/family/community relationships and independent living skills to improve home, school, family, and work environments.
- Gather or develop and present/post a variety of on-going educational and treatment resources related to co-occurring disorders.
- Clearly document clinical interventions in progress notes using SIRP format and preferably completed collaboratively with the consumer.
- Be knowledgeable of the ITCD fidelity measures and work to increase fidelity to the ITCD model.
- Identify programmatic goals and outcome indicators, collect data, and analyze data related to the indicators and work with the ITCD team to determine continuous quality improvements.
- Complete screening appointments for individuals seeking services.
- Complete annual psychosocial assessments for consumers enrolled in the Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program.
- Develop and update treatment plans to identify specific, individualized, and measurable recovery goals, objectives, and interventions in collaboration with the consumer, family/support system and/or other involved professionals.
- In collaboration with the rest of the treatment team, provide clinical expertise as it relates to psychosocial assessments and crisis prevention planning for consumers who have substance use disorders.
- Implement and abide by company policy and licensure requirements.
Meet the requirements of the Department of Mental Health for a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)- Licensed/provisionally licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor or meet the requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHP) as a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP). Must also complete required trainings to be an ITCD Specialist.
