JOB DESCRIPTION
NY Enrichment Group is seeking several Painting/Art/Drawing/Arts & Crafts Instructors to lead classes for our K-12 partner schools. The successful candidates will be supporting students in developing hands-on specific projects and skills while exploring art principles using a variety of materials. Emphasis is placed on individual direction through classroom projects, as well as building and creating innovative work. The instructor must have experience working with students with disabilities, be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve, and demonstrate the ability to motivate and educate. We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and creative professional who truly enjoys enriching the lives of children.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading arts & crafts classes Grade K-12
- Facilitate classes that follow a social group work model
- Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students (including students with disabilities)
- Prep for classes: arriving 15 minutes to set up and prepare to start class on time.
- Clean up: must leave locations in the condition found, or cleaner.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and scholars.
- Follow up after classes with NYEG Director of Operations.
- Maintain a positive, healthy, safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
Reports to VP of Operations at NY Enrichment Group.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have experience working with students with disabilities.
- Candidate should be highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, outspoken, honest, self-motivated, and work with integrity. This is an independent role, with little direct supervision.
- Candidate should be comfortable working with children, and comfortable working independently leading a class of students. Candidate should be a clear communicator, have a positive attitude, and be able to effectively manage a classroom.
- Relevant performance experience
Preferred but not necessary:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 2 years experience working with youth
- Teaching experience and classroom management skills
- A knowledge of, and willingness to teach, a variety of different art styles

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
