SUMMARY

The Instructor is responsible for leading and delivering a remarkable barre3 class and experience. Barre3 Instructors have a passion for fitness while embracing whole-body health, community, and connection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES other duties as assigned… 1. Provides welcoming service and quality class education; communicates effectively with clients and guests about the barre3 brand and values. 2. Stays up to date on current philosophies, teachings, and certifications in order to effectively deliver barre3 classes that will retain client base. 3. Fosters a strong, tangible sense of community in classes and in the studio with both coworkers, guests, and clients.

JOB DUTIES ● Arrives to the studio with music and choreography prepared. ● Teaches using the current guidelines and standards of a barre3 class. ● Communicates the barre3 brand and core values through thoughtful cueing. ● Builds strong relationships with barre3 clients before, during, and after class as well as creates a warm and supportive studio environment. ● Executes strong communication skills and a professional presence to staff and clients. ● Maintains a basic understanding of MINDBODY Online. ● Tidies studio space and helps prepare the studio for the next class. ● Supports fellow Instructors by taking classes and subbing. ● Participates in Bi-Annual Mentor class check-ins, regular goal setting and check-ins with Amy Billetz and annual performance reviews with Natalia Coppolecchia. ● Teaching requirements: o Instructors with less than one year of experience consistently teaching barre3 will teach a minimum of 4 classes per week, plus weekend rotation or permanent weekend class. o Instructors with one to three years of experience consistently teaching barre3 will have a teaching minimum of 3 classes per week, plus weekend rotation or permanent weekend class. o Instructors with more than three years of experience consistently teaching barre3 will have a teaching minimum of 2 classes per week, plus weekend rotation or permanent weekend class. ▪ All schedule changes are up for review with their Studio Owner, based on studio scheduling needs and performance. ● Attends quarterly meetings/workshops and specific campaign meetings/trainings. ● Displays excellent communication skills including presentation skills required in working with the client and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and timely, and remain calm and courteous under pressure, with attention to email and other forms of communication. ● Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. ● Takes direction and constructive feedback. ● Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in the health or fitness industry and/or teaching health and fitness classes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to type and write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

COMPUTER SKILLS Must be adept at using various applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including database management, spreadsheet maintenance and creation, word processing, presentation software, use of scheduling software and communication via e-mail.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A current, valid CPR/AED certification is required for this position, and the employee must be a certified barre3 instructor. Barre3 will provide CPR/AED certification opportunities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.
