Milliken's SiVance Plant is a world-class business leader in silicone chemistry, focused on the development and manufacture of specialty silicone technologies at this fully-integrated production facility established in 1953 in Gainesville, Florida. The 65-acre site contains Research & Development laboratories, analytical capabilities for chemical analysis and route development, and production facilities ranging from lab scale, to pilot and commercial scale, allowing SiVance to move innovations through the development pipeline in relatively short order. At the SiVance plant, more than 130 associates produce hundreds of silicon-based products considered vital to the performance and value of industrial and consumer products manufactured around the world.
SUMMARY:
This position is located at the Milliken SiVance Plant in Gainesville, FL. The Maintenance Mechanic Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for providing expedient service to the facility's equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and quality performance involved with manufacturing and processing our products. Successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to effectively and efficiently manage daily work load and inspections in a chemical manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
· Provide scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment
· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required equipment service
· Assist other engineering and maintenance associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order
· Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
· Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting
· Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process
· Communicate effectively with all affected departments and personnel to accomplish assigned tasks and projects.
· Demonstrate cooperative and positive attitude with site personnel and external
· Become familiar with, understand and comply with Milliken Quality Policy, Standard Operating Procedure(s) (SOPs), relevant ISO 9000 standards and Company Policies that are applicable to this position
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
· High school graduate or GED.
· Advanced knowledge of mechanical components and equipment.
· Possess a valid Florida driver's license.
· Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, climb long vertical ladders, move heavy equipment and have the ability to move about freely in cramped quarters.
Preferred:
· 4 years relevant work experience
· Welding certifications or a desire to weld will be a plus
