Job description
Performs advanced and/or managerial (senior-level) psychological work; Work involves directing psychological activities and programs, conducting psychological evaluations, diagnosing clients, providing consultation and training on conducting diagnostic sessions and conducting psychological research; Work also involves strategic planning for the department and supervising of interns within the scope of licensure; May assign and/or supervise the work of others; Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Develops, plans, coordinates, manages, promotes, and evaluates systemic and collaborative strategies that result in the provision of mental health and psychological delivery services, activities, and programs; Work involves establishing program goals and objectives, developing schedules, coordinating the planning of program priorities, program development, implementation, evaluating, and reporting of program status at various stages to determine appropriateness of program or compliance with requirements and standards outlined in contracts and in line with community needs; Coordinates, researches, and identifies sources of external funds and creates or develops proposals to secure funds for new grant opportunities and grant renewal opportunities; May plan, assign and/or supervise the work of others.
Knowledge of Psychology, Psychometrics, and Physiological Principles, of diagnostic criteria, and of Psychological Evaluation Methods; Skill in the use of Psychological evaluation and assessment techniques, and in mediation procedures; Ability to interpret diagnostic evaluations, to analyze behavior, to develop behavior modification and skill acquisition plans, to plan and direct psychological activities and research, and to communicate effectively; Ability to lift 10 – 15 pounds is required; Adequate health and physical mobility to get up and down off the floors as required First/CPR provision and application of SAMA techniques; Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Desired Education/Job Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in Counseling or Psychological work; Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related degree; Prefer competency in bilingual assessment; Prefer experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Registration, Certification, or Licensure: Must be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Texas or a reciprocity state; Must maintain licensure including meeting annual continuing education training requirements set by Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; Current, full, unencumbered license in the state of Texas as a medical doctor or licensed psychologist.
Minimum Physical Requirements: SAMA instruction - Stepping backward, grasping, bending at the waist and knees, twisting at the waist, side-stepping, and shifting direction quickly in a 180-degree turn, must be able to do a reverse lunge, and lower 30-50 pounds to the ground; Moving tables, chairs, cleaning, lifting, carrying training materials, pushing a cart with training aids.

After completing a probationary period with AACOG, the employee will be eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus.
