SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manages the talent acquisition process to include recruitment, interviewing, hiring, reference checks and background screening of qualified job applicants for open positions.
· Implements new hire orientation, to include assigning mandatory training, handbook review and enrollment in benefits.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, managers, and outside sources.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive issues arise; such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
· Maintains employee and workplace privacy.
· Maintains the personnel policy manual and makes updates when necessary.
· Ensures general HR rules and policies are understood and followed, adhered to.
· Ensures practice adherence to all government mandated personnel regulations.
· Ensures implementation of the performance and salary review systems.
· Maintains all personnel files.
· Facilitates/maintains records of worker’s compensation, FMLA and unemployment claims.
· Conducts exit interviews and shares data with managers and the Chief Executive Officer.
· Promotes and coordinates employee events.
. Benefit Administration
· Coordinates and administers annual enrollment for the benefits plans.
· Enrolls new employees for all applicable benefits including health insurance, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, dental insurance, vision insurance, STD, LTD and life insurance.
· Enrolls employees in the retirement plans based on eligibility.
· Calculates the quarterly 401(k) Safe Harbor matches in coordination with the (Third Party Administrators) TPA.
· Submits the census report to the TPA at the beginning of each year to initiate the process of finalizing the contributions for all employees to the retirement plans for the previous year.
· Reviews and approves all invoices monthly and submits to the Financial Analyst for payment.
· Ensures all eligible employees are offered COBRA benefits upon termination.
. Payroll
· Monitors the timekeeping system daily.
· Works with the managers on verifying the accuracy of time entry for the bi-weekly payroll.
· Submits the payroll to Paychex bi-weekly.
· Records all pay increases and all appropriate deductions for the employees including health and dental insurance premiums, contributions to health savings and/or flexible savings accounts, and contributions to the 401(k)-retirement plan.
· Calculates the employer’s responsibility for the benefits including health and dental premiums, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance and the quarterly match for the 401(k)-retirement plan.
· Works with the CEO on payrolls for Ensures thatbonuses for the physicians, audiologists, and other applicable employees.
· Manages, commissions, and the recording/payment of garnishments are recorded accurately.
· Attends the managers meetings.
· Performs all other permanent and/or temporary duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and/or the physicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
· College degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field or equivalent training and experience
· At least three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping functions (e.g., payroll, accounts payable, etc.) preferably in a medical setting.
· Computer proficiency including Word and Excel. Experience with an electronic practice management system and electronic medical record system would be very helpful but not required.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
· Medical office setting.
· Well-lighted and well-ventilated adequate space.
· Exposure to communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a medical office setting.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
· Requires sitting for extensive periods of time.
· Must be able to view computer screen for an extended period.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
