Job description

Responsible for: Maintaining an adequate workforce based on production requirements. Ensure MPC policies and practices are legal, and employees are treated fairly.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1.) Be familiar with both state and federal regulations and laws governing employment.

2.) Be familiar with all Company policies and procedures related to employees.

3.) Maintain confidentiality in reference to all personnel related issues.

4.) Hiring of Personnel (in cooperation with Department Managers):

a.) Solicit new hires through sources available. (Newspapers, Job Service, postings, employment services)

b.) Make Conditional Job Offers to potential employees, verifying previous employment information, conducting background investigations as outlined by state and federal regulations along with MPC policies.

c.) Prepare new hire paperwork, new employee personnel files.

5.) Maintain all personnel record keeping mandated by state and federal regulations.

6.) Prepare and distribute 30-day, 60-day, and yearly employee evaluations for all employees.

7.) Monitor employee attendance records and initiate disciplinary action as needed.

8.) Prepare and distribute Benefit Package information to eligible employees.

9.) Schedule vacations for all eligible employees.

10.) Enroll eligible employees in various benefit programs. These include Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Supplemental, and 401k.

11.) Responsible for employee census information used for Insurance and 401k purposes.

12.) All communication and administration of MPC’s 401K program with management, Plan Administrators, and employees, as needed.

13.) Administer all MPC policies, including updates, revisions, etc.

14.) Responsible for training HR Specialist.

15.) Verify past employee information as outlined by Company policy.

16.) Monitor and respond to all unemployment claims.

17.) Communicate all personnel related information to Production, and Management, as necessary.

18.) Assist management in development and implementation of a thorough Orientation Program and training classes for new hires.

19.) Assist in the research and development of training programs, locate training materials, and administer training.

20.) Maintain employee payroll records including printing out payroll checks on a weekly basis.

21.) Responsible for end of year tax information and sending out employee W2’s along with state and federal paperwork.

22.) Assists the President in yearly insurance decisions.

23.) Maintain and monitor the employee time clock system including daily/weekly punch records.

24.) Maintain and monitor employee supplies/tools.

25.) Maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification.

26.) At a minimum, maintain OSHA 10 Certification.

27.) Maintain current and terminated employee records.

28.) Schedule all open enrollment sessions with employees regarding all insurance carriers and 401K.

29.) Conduct harassment or disciplinary investigations.

30.) Make weekly deferral contributions for 401k program and submit annual census data.

31.) Assist the President and Department Managers in the development of management and potential management employees toward advancement and future growth, including training, special assignments, and promotions.

32.) Assist department managers with employee job descriptions.

33.) Monitor employee’s birthdays, PTO days and anniversaries and administer forms as needed.

34.) Contribute human resource information to the newsletter on a weekly basis.

35.) Cover the Safety Coordinator position during absences and/or vacations.

36.) Schedule and plan events for MPC including company meetings, Employee Appreciation Day, and any other special events.

37.) Responsible for notifying management when necessary or complying with management’s legal and appropriate request for employee disciplinary action or termination.

38.) Responsible for planning meetings with 3rd party supplemental insurance providers twice per year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
