TalentAmp is hiring an HR Generalist for one of our direct clients in the Machinery Manufacturing industry in Phoenix, AZ for an on-site role.

Our client is looking for an HR Generalist that will handle the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including employee relations, recruitment, payroll, on-boarding, new hire orientation, worker’s compensation claims, OSHA fillings, as well assisting with benefits enrollment. The HR Generalist assists in the implementation of HR policies and procedures and their dissemination through communications and meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Initiates on-boarding; timely completes and verifies I-9 documentation, as well as new hire related company documents, to ensure a smooth new hire onboarding process.
- Recruits open positions and collaborates with hiring managers in scheduling interviews and acquires the necessary background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Manages off-boarding process by updating HRIS and seeing offboarding checklist through to completion by all departments.
- Maintain new hire orientation changes and facilitates with department leads and managers to complete new hire orientation.
- Facilitates employee benefit participation in various voluntary options, which includes verifying eligibility and check accuracy of completed enrollments for new hires and open enrollment period.
- Timely and accurately processes payroll via Paychex, requiring regular auditing of employee time punches, deductions, pay adjustments, taxes, garnishments, benefits, and final payments.
- Manages worker’s compensation by initiating claims and working with insurance carrier to process employee paperwork, tracking and communicating with employee regarding their work status.
- Timely responds to miscellaneous emails from employees requesting basic HR information. This may involve researching programs, policies, procedures, employee benefits offerings or employee services.
- Administers the full-cycle leave of absence process including but not limited to reporting leave absences and return to work dates for HRIS data entry, sending benefit payment letters and collecting monies owed, sending termination letters and completing termination paperwork as applicable.
- Regularly files HR paperwork in respective personnel files and keeps personnel files up to date.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Implements and communicates policies and procedures through various methods.
- Posts HR related materials and other information around office location(s) including digital bulletin board(s).
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Responds to unemployment notices/claims and provides necessary documentation.
- Other projects and duties as assigned, to meet the growing needs of the company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of human resource principles, practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Paychex Flex experience a plus.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent project management and prioritization skills with proven attention to detail.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, confidentially and interact and build relationships within all levels of the organization.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), including very strong proficiency in Excel.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; a minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
