Under direct supervision maintain assigned areas within the medical center in sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly condition.

Other information:
Previous cleaning experience in a institutional or school or healthcare housekeeping department preferred. On the job training provided. Experience with floor cleaning equipment and /or grounds care equipment preferred

Responsibilities:
Clean assigned areas: to include washing or refinishing floors; shampooing & vacuuming carpets; shampooing upholstery, etc. following our established guidelines. Leave areas assigned orderly and set-up according to expectations of the customer. Support the tasks of the Housekeepers from major floor cleaning in patient rooms/bathrooms/hallways; isolation rooms assistance; curtain hanging, and actually cleaning the room as a housekeeper, if assigned by the lead. Cardboard Removal: Complete the removal of cardboard per your assigned location. Make sure all cardboard is secured in the dumpster/container. Pick up around the collection area to insure it remains neat. Floor Equipment/Floor Sink Room: Inspect your equipment; make sure it is left clean and ready for the next team members. Report any equipment operation issues to the lead. Clean trash cans, dump carts, all equipment used in public areas weekly or as soiled or smelly. Report when equipment is noisy. Notify lead/mgmt. when cleaning supplies are low, equipment requires attention and/or plant engineering requires to be contacted(light bulbs out, tile soiled, cracked floor tiles, broken locks, peeling wallpaper etc.) Notify the lead/mgmt. when evidence of pests are found. Hospital Grounds, Parking Garage, and Trash Room: Must be able to drive and operate floor sweeping equipment. Sweep the garage and entrance areas as assigned. Remove all trash and clean all the outsides of the trash cans; clean the phones, windows, carpet, etc. in the parking garage. Keep the trash room neat and orderly. Mop the floor; share when the trash/cardboard needs pick- up. Pick up all trash from all parking areas. In-House Elevators/Public Floors/Stairs: Monitor your assigned areas. Clean elevator floors, walls, and ceilings; including elevator doors; stair- from walls to floors; report if stair treads need replacement. In-Patient Soiled Utility Rooms: Change Bio hazardous cubicles as directed. Wash walls once a week or as soiled. Clean trash cans inside and out. Monitor that the proper signage is up. Communication/Documentation: Professionally and promptly communicate with each other utilizing the available Beebe methods- emails, radios, and phones. Document and reports as requested by leads/mgmt. Department Support: Flexible in assignment from working in a variety of positions(OR, ED, Patient Care Area, Grounds), flexible in shift assignments; eagerly assists the leads in preparing areas for customers.
