The salary range for this role is $65,000.00-$70,000.00 annually.
About the Role
Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager, the housekeeping and sanitation assistant manager will focus on the cleanliness and continued upkeep of our park. This will be done both by internal housekeeping and sanitation team along with 3rd party contracts. Waste and recycling management with 3rd party contracts to ensure we are being as sustainable as possible with ensuring rebates, and energy savings back to the company.
Role Description
- Housekeeping and Sanitation Assistant Manager responsibilities will be, but not limited to, the following:
- Leading the daily operations of the housekeeping and sanitation department and providing support to the operations park presentation team to ensure the daily cleanliness and maintenance to the resort.
- Assist with training and hiring of new team members.
- Develop departmental training in line with Merlin policy and internal T&C department.
- Help to prepare work schedules to ensure all jobs are covered in assigned areas.
- Ensure maintenance of all pressure washers, leaf blowers and other department equipment are kept in good working order.
- Help develop and manage 3rd party contract for park wide cleaning.
- Manage 3rd party waste management contract and look for ways to improve.
- Leaf blowing and Power washing of park interior to maintain cleanliness during guest experience.
- Collection of waste and recycling from back of house areas and transportation to transfer building.
- Tracking and scheduling of equipment maintenance: trucks, trailers, golf carts and compactors.
- Managing of the local SDS system to update and maintain correct records.
- Always maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all equipment.
- Other and all responsibilities as per the business needs.
About You
- Previous housekeeping or sanitation experience a must.
- Good organizational skills are necessary to take charge of organizing training and training classes.
- The ability to manage multiple projects at one time in an efficient and timely manner is important in this position.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing 3rd party contacts.
- OSHA 10 for General Industry a plus.
- Ability to sit for OSHA 30.
- Previous Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous Experience with NetSuite a plus.
- Previous Experience with Asset Management Systems, like Infor, Maximo, CMMS, Asset Panda a plus.
- Strong people management skills to develop an effective team environment.

HSS:
- Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials International), NEC (National Electrical Code), NSF (National Science Foundation), OHSA as well as state and local codes.
- Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Health, Safety & Security in the workplace and in line with the Merlin Entertainments Group Policy.
- Understand risk assessments within own workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to appropriate manager.
- Compliance of safe working procedures for work activities within one’s job role, but cognizant of the effects on others prior to the activity/function.
- In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely manner to the duty manager.
