There has always been a small restaurant at the “Corner” in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they opened a little 40-seat cafe that served breakfast and lunch. The CORNER CAFE was born. Expansions and new buildings have been built, but we continue the traditions that started back in 1983. We strive to provide the best products, the best service, and the best value in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. The Liberty location opened in 2004.
Do you have the gift of hospitality—making people feel welcome and at home? Our hosts warmly greet and seat guests, keep the restaurant clean and inviting to make sure guests know how thankful we are for their visit. A Host presents a positive first impression of the
establishment's friendliness, excellent service and high standards. The Host
greets guests upon arrival, informs guests of their wait time, monitors a
waiting list, show guests to their table and bid guests farewell as they leave.
The Host must be able to carry natural conversation with guests without
sounding scripted or intrusive.
Job Duties
- Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus
- Maintain cleanliness of entrance, lobby and porch throughout shift
- Answer incoming calls in a prompt and efficient manner
- Manage the flow of guests utilizing station rotation
- Tend to special guest needs and requests
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation guidelines
