Hospital Food Service Assistant
Detroit, MI 48202
Hours/Shifts:
Rotation between 6:30AM-8:00PM Hours: 6:15 am – 2: 45pm or 11:30 am to 8 pm
3+ month contract with possibility for extension.
Job overview:
Under the direction of department leadership, performs a variety of duties related to preparing and serving meals to patients, employees and visitors; performs cashier, diet office, inventory/supply or dish room duties and other duties as assigned.
Dish Washer: Running trays, pots, pans, and other dishes through the dish machine, cleaning the kitchen, changing the trash, and other cleaning duties in the kitchen. Tray passer – candidate will be passing trays to patients throughout each hospital unit and also will be assembling the trays for the patients.
Skills: Personal computer and data entry skills - Preferred
Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or six (6) months to one (1) year of previous work experience in a food service or cash handling setting. Able to read, write, speak English and follow oral and written instructions. Personal computer and data entry skills, preferred.
