Job description
Boston West Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital located in Natick, MA.
Hospital agents answer incoming communications from clients, referring veterinarians, and internal staff. They also schedule appointments and provide clear, accurate and complete information to callers, while delivering empathetic, timely service.
Must have experience in customer service. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Windows and communication tools such as phones, online messaging tools and applications. You will need an understanding of common medical conditions, illnesses and emergency situations. You will need to understand technical medical terminology and procedures.
Must work Saturday or Sunday.
Responsibilities:
- Answers incoming communications from internal and external clients applying knowledge of services provided at hospital.
- Triages emergency calls while speaking to clients experiencing extreme stress.
- Actively listens to clients, asks appropriate questions , and collects accurate and appropriate client information.
- Interprets and responds professionally and empathetically with clients' needs and emotions.
- Communicates effectively with medical teams, including doctors and technicians, to relay accurate and timely information.
- Documents details of all communications and business transactions in the electronic medical record.
- Schedules client appointments and incoming emergency visits, promoting Ethos services and accurate details to prepare the client for their visit.
- Transfers and requests medical records efficiently and according to protocols and training.
- Recognizes and escalates problems to the proper supervisor or members of management team.
- Fills prescriptions for the hospital.
