Rockford Rescue Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital part of our team. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To create and maintain medical records, assigning and recording patient numbers at Hope Clinic. Assist the Hope Clinic Supervisor as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor office environment which requires sitting at a desk doing computer work 75% of the time. May require some lifting and moving of equipment and supplies.
A. GENERAL OFFICE
1. Maintain continuity of work in Hope Clinic by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
2. Maintain patient confidence by keeping patient records information confidential.
3. Coordinate communication between Program Support Services Director, Hope Clinic Supervisor, and volunteer healthcare professionals.
4. Coordinate the Clinic schedule for residents and community appointments with doctors, dentists, dental hygienists, chiropractors, and pharmacist.
5. Gather necessary patient information, inputting data in the electronic medical records.
6. Maintain and update electronic medical records as necessary.
7. Be familiar with the functions and maintain all medical equipment, agreements, and repair services.
Also, the Clinic Coordinator is responsible for ordering supplies (i.e., TB serum, paper products, OTC medications).
8. Maintain records of all healthcare providers’ licenses and liability insurance.
9. Perform receptionist duties in the Clinic as needed (i.e., pull charts, answer phones, take messages, file charts, and make copies).
10. Perform related work and other duties when required and as assigned.

1. Sitting for extended periods of time
2. Occasional standing, reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, moving and walking
C. SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
2. Provide spiritual encouragement to volunteers, guests and residents.
3. Pray with guests and residents.
4. Memorize monthly Scripture.
5. Attend weekly staff chapel services and annual spiritual Renewal Week.
D. QUALIFICATIONS
1. One or more years of experience working with medical records
2. Friendly and compassionate disposition
3. Excellent organizational and time management skills
4. Strong interpersonal communication skills
5. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
6. Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
7. Must have served as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role
8. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
9. Must be able to prioritize assignments and complete in a timely manner
10. Must display respect, gentleness and integrity to staff and Mission guests
11. Must engage in safe and healthy work practices, both on the premises and off-site facilities. Must take an active part ensuring the safety, health and well-being of all of our staff, volunteers and Mission guests.
