Scope: Obtains electronic images of patient medical information, including diagnostic tests, from various medical facilities and the patient to ensure a complete and accurate electronic medical record. Indexes documents to the correct document type as established by facility policy; places those documents in the electronic medical record. Minimizes duplicate records and overlap entries.

Functions:

• Obtains electronic images of patient medical information
• Performs medical record scanning
• Assists the department as needed
• Print/work the appropriate canned and custom reports daily

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year or more of experience in a medical office setting
• Medical records experience preferred
• Knowledge about HIPAA regulations required
• Must be able to work independently
