Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Salary: Competitive salary based on education and/or experience and holiday pay and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Days: Monday through Friday

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Position:

Our Blood Institute, the sixth-largest nonprofit blood center in the U.S., is also a leader in blood banking innovation and an established bio-tech firm, working closely with scientists to develop leading-edge treatments, connecting blood donors and blood products directly to clinical research, and partnering with organizations on projects related to our mission of saving lives and improving quality of life for patients. We are looking for a Health and Science Communications Manager with great storytelling and creativity to develop engaging and compelling narratives and visually stimulating content to support the public health and scientific communication needs of the organization. This position will also develop and implement communications strategies to grow our research programs, recruit participants for research studies, and celebrate the outcomes of research projects.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated writing talent and video skills are required.
  • Ability to write different types of content that can target both lay and medical audiences.
  • Social media savviness is essential.
  • Public speaking prowess and graphic design aptitude are pluses.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a communications position.
  • Knowledgeable in email platforms such as MailChimp or Constant Contact.
  • An analytical mind and ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communications strategies that encompass everything from copywriting and social media management to campaign strategy, email marketing, feature writing, and publication design.
  • Types of communication you can expect to create and oversee include press releases; articles for general media as well as specialist trade publications and association journals; digital media including video production, social media, website, apps, and more; patient outreach materials; marketing and collateral materials; and speeches and presentations.
  • Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications strategies
