This is a Full Time position.

Supervises cashier team and performs regular cashier duties by providing customer service in receiving and recording cash and charge payments for goods and services sold by the store.

Essential Functions/Duties:

• Greet customers entering the store.
• Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they are staffed appropriately.
• Answer customers' questions and provide information on store merchandise.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit card, voucher, or automatic debit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers.
• Bag or box merchandise for customers.
• Offer customer carry-out service at the completion of transactions.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
• Request information or assistance using paging system.
• Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices.
• Recommend accessory items or related merchandise when appropriate.
• Assist in stocking shelves and marking prices.
• Answer telephone.
• Train new cashiers.
• Must be able to work majority of shift standing and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned by store management.

Required Skills/Experience:

Must have 2 years experience in being a cashier. Proven work history in providing customer service. Ability to calculate numbers, correct entries, and utilize computer system. Ability to effectively communicate information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Required Education/Certification: High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
