Are you a hair stylist who is passionate about helping children look and feel their best? We are looking for a Children's Hair Stylist or Barber to join our team!
At Cookie Cutters Mahwah, we believe that hair is a reflection of the person you are. It's your crowning glory, and we want to make sure it's always looking its best. We are looking for someone who can help us bring out the best in our clients' hair by giving them the perfectly styled look they crave. We also expect you to be able to provide us with clear instructions on how we can help each client feel comfortable during their time at our salon.
What we Offer:
- Guaranteed hourly salary (base ranges $15 - 18 / hour depending on experience)
- With tips & commission, our stylists typically earn $25-$40/hr

Requirements:
- Current NJ cosmetology or barber license (Current Students with temporary license are welcome to apply)
- Weekend availability
- Excellent with children!
- Excellent verbal communication and customer relations skills
- Basic computer skills to operate the POS
- Creative mindset and a good eye for design
- Ability to thrive in high energy, fast-paced environment, executing haircuts in 15-30 minutes
- A good deal of patience when dealing with crying children
- Proficiency with hot irons, curlers, and blow-dryers and a wide pallet of styling and braiding
Responsibilities;
- Consulting with clients (parents) on stylistic options for their child’s hair.
- Adhering to salon safety and cleanliness standards.
- Managing bookings and welcoming clients into the store.
- Listening to clients' needs to determine their preferences, and acting as a salesperson to sell clients hair care products
- Describing different hair care products and their benefits.
- Shampooing, cutting, braiding, and special occasion styling.
- Keeping updated on hairstyle trends and styling methods.
- Building a personal relationship with clients to ensure return visits and making them comfortable.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
