Apex is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to support the design and development of Apex’s website and related marketing materials. The ideal candidate will be eager and willing to take on multiple projects to support both internal and external needs, to coordinate with other members of the team and the company at large, and to help deliver Apex’s brand messaging consistently and creatively.

Your Responsibilities as a Graphic and Website Designer:

The Graphic and Website Designer will work with and within the Marketing Team and provide marketing support as needed with a primary focus on internal and external communications and branding such as social media, website updates and maintenance, emails, award submissions, newsletters and announcements, advertising, and additional necessary brand-centric items and tasks. The Graphic and Website Designer will also be responsible for preparing and presenting web analytics to the team and will be expected to develop ideas and suggestions to improve campaigns and website SEO. The Graphic and Website Designer will interface regularly with Associates, Project Managers, and Program Managers and other Apex representatives and will work closely with all marketing team members and will report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing. This position requires a detail-oriented individual and a team player who can communicate effectively, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and thrive in a deadline driven environment.

Skills and responsibilities include:

  • Website design and development
    • Proficiency with WordPress
      • Create and edit pages and posts on a regular basis
      • Write and edit CSS and HTML code
      • Research and test plugins in Dev environment
      • Ensure all marketing collateral linked on website is up to date
      • Maintain office locations posts and map
      • Familiarity with technical SEO principles and tags
      • Monitor plugins for updates and alert IT to update on a monthly basis
      • Clone Staging site to Production site via WPEngine
  • SEO
    • Keyword research
    • Google Analytics reporting
    • Google Search Console
  • Help enhance Apex’s social media presence by providing thoughtful and balanced design support, incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Support company-wide branding initiatives and maintenance of company brand standards and quality control procedures.
  • HubSpot email, landing page, and campaign development
  • Collateral and SOQ design
  • Tradeshow, event, and webinar material design
  • Internal SharePoint site design, development, and maintenance
  • Analytic representation and infographic design
  • Internal communication design
  • Presentation support and design
  • Advertising, direct mail, and marketing campaign design
  • IT, Talent, Safety, PM, ESG, DEI, and training support material design
  • Video editing and development
  • Maintain up to date task list to track all assignments and deliverables
  • Support internal communications such as internal newsletters and other workplace culture initiatives
  • Support advertising efforts by assisting with analyses of publications and other opportunities, tracking deadlines for artwork, and updating and submitting artwork accordingly
  • Review website and social media insights and metrics regularly with the marketing team
  • Contribute new ideas to support the growth and development of Apex’s internal and external brand and messaging

What we're looking for:
  • At minimum, five years of experience in graphic design
  • At minimum three to five years of experience with web design and development (HTML, CSS, WordPress)
  • A bachelor’s degree in design, marketing or communication a strong plus
  • Experience in the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) industry a strong plus
  • Experience with email design and development; email marketing platforms (HubSpot, MailChimp, Constant Contact)
  • Experience with branding and brand management
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, Lightroom) is essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and SharePoint is essential.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail and eye for accuracy and quality.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • The successful candidate will be motivated and a quick learner, able to work both independently and as team player on the marketing team.
  • Ability or willingness to balance multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines, and be responsive and thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
