Grant Manager – Austin, Texas

The Office of the Governor is looking for a Grant Manager (Grant Specialist III) to work in the Public Safety Office - Criminal Justice Division (CJD).

What You’ll Do

This is a job that performs grant development, coordination, analysis, monitoring, and administration work. The focus of this position is working with organizations throughout the state to support criminal and juvenile justice efforts through planning and grant investments. You will be called on to evaluate grant applications for eligibility and appropriateness, assist with monitoring schedules and reports, and analyze performance data to determine the efficacy of funded programs.

What You’ll Earn

The salary is $5,000.00 - $5,416.67 a month ($60,000.00 - $65,000.00 a year).

What You Need to Get Hired

  • Two (2) years of responsible experience in grant or program management .
  • Knowledge of the state’s Uniform Grant Management Standards, federal grant regulations, and contract administration.
  • Ability to coordinate and review grant applications to determine eligibility and compliance with program guidance, state and federal statutes, and other requirements.
  • Ability to analyze grant activities, identify problem areas, and provide technical assistance.
  • Experience in negotiating changes with potential grantees to ensure accountability with requirements.
  • Experience in providing guidance to staff, grantees, applicants, and others, via conferencing and other means.

Other Things We’ll be Looking For

  • Experience in managing the collection, organization, and analysis of data using Excel and Access databases.
  • Experience in communicating professionally with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
