ELEVATOR OPERATOR

Job Description:

Manage grain inventory. Condition and position grain in facility to maximize efficiency and quality; coordinate inbound grain receiving activities and segregation of grain; provide assistance to scale operations when needed; assist in coordination of outbound loading; communicate daily activities and assure safety compliance; record keeping and monitoring grain quality.

Job Duties:

• Assist in the unloading, loading and proper blending of grain
• Perform routine maintenance and the record keeping of facilities and equipment
• Maintain professional image by cleanliness of facility, equipment, and grounds
• Perform routine housekeeping and maintain documentation
• Communicate daily activities, needs and accomplishments with supervisor
• Assure safety compliance by maintaining a safe work environment and wear proper PPE when required
• Develop operational knowledge to assist in other departments
• Customer service is our priority: Serve patron in a manner that promotes our company, promotes customer service and delivers our patrons the services they need to succeed with their operations.
• Work overtime as required during harvest
• Perform any other task requested by supervisor

Education / Experience

One to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions. Ability to complete routine cleaning and maintenance reports. Ability to communicate needs and issues with supervisor.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide, calculate volumes of spheres and read a tape measure.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding when given instructions and ability to think on your feet when confronted with an issue that must be corrected immediately.

Certificates and Licenses: State Grain-grading License and Fumigation (7B) License Preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.50 per hour
