Global Chief Data & Analytics Officer, Strategy & Integration

Aon is looking for a Global Chief Data & Analytics Officer - Strategy and Integration who will be responsible for leading Aon’s data led innovation capabilities by enabling industry leading data strategies to help drive significant value creation, growth, and monetization across the firm.

What the day will look like

This role will report to Aon’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will partner with the Aon Business Services (ABS) executive leadership team to lead the enterprise towards the overall vision to leverage data as a key strategic enabler and product.
This leader will own and define the mission and enabling strategy for data & analytics; will lead across multiple areas including budgets and critical metrics to effectively deliver all activities related to the data & analytics function; will establish and successfully drive all relevant processes, governance and governance frameworks required; raise impediments; manage risk; ensure appropriate and secure architecture; and drive continuous improvement to ensure the success of the function. This leader also will work with the Global Security and Chief Counsel regarding data security and privacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defines, builds, and operates as the ultimate owner of all enabling capabilities related to Aon’s data innovation and monetization and strategy.
  • Lead the relevant teams supporting data driven solutions, including the ACIA structures
  • Lead the firm’s data ecosystem by ensuring alignment of priorities between key stakeholders and partners to drive value delivery for Aon and Aon’s clients.
  • Accountable for successfully leading all enterprise-wide data and information governance, forums, controls, policy, standards, assets, regulation, development, and data integration services.
  • Partners with ABS and Solution Line leaders to understand high level strategy, goals and establish data & analytics capabilities to create a culture that prioritizes data as a cross-corporate asset.
  • Capitalizes on data driven strategies by enabling the business and ensuring all partners understand key governance issues for internal planning and external communication.
  • Responsible for driving data insight to help drive strategic and tactical business opportunities, and acts as a champion for enabling a culture of data driven decision making.
  • Works with Solution Line leaders to explore new and innovative opportunities for data monetization to ensure customer assets, capabilities and campaigns are properly integrated and run in accordance with the long-term, broader Aon data & analytics strategy.
  • Directs the delivery of programs through active sponsorship, leadership, and involvement in specific initiatives to ensure they meet time, cost, and quality requirements
  • Defines and implements appropriate architecture
  • Establishes and maintains an appropriate operating model across the helix organization, with clarity of roles and responsibilities
  • Ensures shared operational and integrated enterprise data
  • Prioritizes and allocates talent and resources effectively across projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Supports building initial reusable data products and prioritized use cases
  • Establishes use cases and governance in relation to disruptive data technologies

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 15 years’ proven experience.
  • Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with major clients and C-Suite level leaders to influence decisions and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Excellent critical and analytical skills with demonstrated independent decision-making ability.
  • Previous formal organization and people management experience inclusive of talent management, attracting, retaining and re-skilling talent
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and lead projects and teams.
  • Ability to drive team(s) to deliver the highest in service, quality, and results.
  • Known problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests innovative/creative solutions.
  • Accepts change and acts as a change “champion” to lead colleagues through periods of uncertainty.

Functional:

  • Strong, demonstrated strategic planning capabilities.
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated experience managing data domains and ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of Technology environments and strategy definition.
  • Ability to create and drive momentum and action within sophisticated environments.
  • Deep experience in leading sophisticated programs and global cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience in managing multiple and sophisticated business-led programs projects to quality, time, and budget.
  • Exceptional track record of on-time, on-budget, and to-specification delivery of projects.

Technical:

  • Expert knowledge of information management, data quality, data Integration, and information governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success collating and articulating business information, generation, and analysis methods into an operational framework
  • Deep understanding of and experience with analytical concepts and statistical techniques.
  • Continued self-education and development in the latest industry trends and insights.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $275,000 to $400,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon’s annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentives varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
