Surdex Corporation is seeking to add a full-time Orthophotography Analyst to our image processing team. The ideal candidate will be ready to join a winning team focused on quality, efficiency and continual learning. The Ortho Analyst processes orthoimagery product data and assuring quality assurance of projects that meet or exceed customer expectations. Assists the Director and Product Leader with quality initiatives, process improvements, project schedules, training, and ISO documentation.

Essential Duties of the Ortho Technician position

  • Assists with the implementation of various phases of production for Ortho and Imagery products.
  • Quality control and assurance of ortho and imagery products.
  • Assists Product Leader and Director with project organization and management.
  • Assists Product Leader and Director with training of technical staff for efficiency and process compliance.
  • Creates quality products while meeting ISO quality objectives (reduce reschedules, first-time client acceptance, and on-time final deliveries).
  • Identifies and effectively recommends alternative solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • Assists with ISO project documentation, work instructions and training of processes.
  • Communicates regularly with Ortho Product Lead, Director of Orthophotogrammetry, and other assigned colleagues on ortho project schedules, updates, issues, and deliverables.

Education, Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography or Geospatial field; equivalent combination of work experience and coursework may be considered.
  • 2+ years' of relevant experience in a GIS-related position.
  • Knowledge of various aerial sensor platforms, orthorectification processes, Digital Elevation Models DEMs and industry geospatial tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Surdex's Ortho and Imagery ISO Processes and tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Surdex's services, products, and processes.
  • Ability to manage, track and produce large amounts of project data and database management.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities based on client needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years' relevant experience in a GIS-related position.
  • Global Mapper Experience.
  • Adobe Photoshop.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity - ability to distinguish full color spectrum.
  • Able to sit and focus on imagery on a computer monitor for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity as needed to use accepted tools of management, i.e., computers, computer monitors, mouse, keyboard.

Working Environment

  • Office - air conditioned, raised floor, fluorescent light, cubicle - environment.
  • Low light working conditions.
