JOB TITLE: General Manager

REPORTS TO: Owner/President/CEO

SUMMARY:

The General Manager is responsible for managing business operations of the salon to include expenses, inventory/product sales, client, and team member satisfaction. Ultimately, the general manager encourages and enables each employee to perform his/her job at their highest potential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • · Oversees efficiency of Front Desk Operations
  • · Supports Front Desk staff in handling customer relations: questions, complaints, etc.
  • · Resolves escalated client issues
  • · Checks over the daily deposits
  • · Maintains stylist and receptionist schedule in salon
  • · Interviews, hires and trains new employees
  • · Coordinates with the CEO on the training of new stylists
  • · Assists in organizing outside education for the benefit of the stylists
  • · Oversees and organizes stylist and front desk promotions
  • · Responsible for organizing salon events and promotions for the clients
  • · Reviews and approves time off requests
  • · Conducts quarterly staff reviews
  • · Develops and implements contests and incentives to motivate the stylists
  • · Updates salon policies, procedures and level system
  • · Disciplines employees when necessary
  • · Oversees weekly inventory for retail, color and professional products
  • · Coordinates with the CEO to order supplies and retail goods bi-weekly
  • · Attends career fairs and recruitment events
  • · Maintains weekly/monthly sales tracker, backbar sales tracker and retail sales tracker
  • · Ensures salon pricing is competitive and stylist pricing is accurate in system
  • · Ensures consistency of operational processes within the salon
  • · Ensures a safe environment for team members and clients
  • · Ensures that the salon operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • · Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures
  • · Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize outstanding performance

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
