Position Summary
The General Manager leads the daily operations of Whisky Woods by adhering to company standards and pursing extraordinary service levels to increase sales and guest satisfaction. Oversees the selection, development, performance, and satisfaction of employees. Controls food and supply management to optimize profitability and efficiency of supply usage. Completes invoicing and reporting accurately and timely. Ensures all safety standards and procedures are enforced throughout the restaurant. Participates in marketing campaigns and social media endeavors. Prepares an environment in which all guests leave delighted with their dining experience and are impelled to share their experience with others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leads employees to work as a motivated, dedicated team committed to service excellence, fun, and profitability.
- Commits to community involvement and is dedicated to the tenants of “small town life, big time opportunity” for both Whisky Woods and its team.
- Oversees the selection, development, and performance, and satisfaction of all Whisky Woods employees.
- Oversees the ongoing development of all Whisky Woods employees through orientation, regular scheduled training sessions, product training sessions, safety training, and on the job development.
- Regularly assesses all employees, provides timely, productive feedback, and develops improvement plans. Works with employees to establish performance expectations and conducts performance reviews.
- Maintains an accurate and up-to-date plan of staffing needs. Prepares schedules and ensures that the restaurant is appropriately staffed for all shifts.
- Prepares an environment in which all guests leave delighted with their dining experience and are impelled to share their experience with others.
- Responds quickly and discretely to complaints with the goal of turning dissatisfied guests into repeat patrons that are impressed with Whisky Woods ability to overcome adversity.
- Actively seeks to provide additional service opportunities to impress guests.
- Ensures the adherence to security procedures to protect employees, guests, and Whisky Woods assets. Works to reduce risk accidents and injury. Completes accident reports promptly.
- Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service. Maintains Whisky Woods image: professional, sharp, and clean in dining areas, kitchen, bar, restrooms, uniforms, and all entry points.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
- ServSafe or equivalently certified
- Estimate food and beverage costs. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste. Makes recommendations to efficiently use inventory.
- Estimates food needs, places orders with distributors, and schedules the delivery of fresh food and supplies.
- Completes invoicing, reporting, and payroll activities accurately and timely.
Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum requirements include good organizational and interpersonal skills and experience in a customer service focused industry. Ability to lift 65 pounds for supply management and tolerance of prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and twisting are required. Demonstration of proficiency in food planning, preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, and reporting are essential. Basic knowledge of Microsoft office and or Google Platforms. Preferred qualifications include a college degree in hospitality, hotel, or restaurant management. Five to 10 years of experience in a similar position, advanced restaurant CRM knowledge, exposure to sales cycles, restaurant, catering, hospitality, or similar industries necessary for responding to business demands appropriately and to assist in prioritizing tasks, marketing experience utilizing a variety of social media formats preferred. Bi-lingual a Plus. Problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously are essential. Ability to utilize excellent writing skills along with the demonstration of strong verbal communication skills are required to assist in task prioritization, and to support the goal of guest acquisition. The ability to function efficiently with while managing a variety of teams is essential for guest satisfaction. Attention to detail and concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks and tolerating frequent interruptions and maintaining a safe working environment.
