TGI Fridays General Managers lead a team of Assistant Managers and Team Members in the execution of an excellent Guest experience. Your efforts have directly responsible for increasing Guest order counts, sales growth and brand health. To ensure decisions and actions are in alignment with the Credo and Values and all TGI Fridays standards are met. To select, coach and develop Team Members. You set the tone for how fun everyone’s job is and how they celebrate each guest we serve.
Specific responsibilities of the General Manager include:
- Manages all day-to-day restaurant operations with a focus on delivering a great Guest experience; directly supervise and support 1–3 Managers and hourly Team Members; manages all profit and loss centers
- Executes on all brand standards through managing and coaching Team Members and Managers
- Interact with delivery services and guest ensure they receive the Fridays Service Style experience; follow up on any issues and complaints they may have to ensure Guest Satisfaction
- Follows the Hamburger Stand Theory, ensuring that the restaurant and staff are set up for an outstanding shift
- Identifies opportunities to drive sales, oversee implementation of local store marketing and national marketing promotions.
- Determines current and future staffing needs in the restaurant to ensure an adequate number of talented Team Members are available to deliver a great Guest experience
- Identifies and develops high potential Team Members and Managers to fill future openings
- Provides ongoing and honest feedback, coaching and development to Managers and Team Members
- Evaluates performance fairly and frequently and holds Team Members accountable to results
- Creates a safe, clean and discrimination-free environment for all Managers and Team Members by ensuring all legal and company standards are met
- Respond to Guest service complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied Guests into return Guests
- Completes all financial and personnel / payroll related administrative duties in and an accurate and timely way, in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Ensures all newly hired Team Members follow and complete their appropriate training plan, including required paper and electronic paperwork
- Approves disciplinary actions pertaining to termination
- Validates inventory per company standards
- Ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect Team Members and Company assets
- Cooking alongside Team Members for the entire shift
- Ensuring packaging of orders follows TGI Fridays standards as well as Local and State health and safety standards
- Must be able to follow TGI FRIDAYS and CDC Guidelines concerning any health crisis. Example Coronavirus
- Ensures that all prepared food meets TGI Fridays standard of excellence, 100% recipe adherence, and adheres to product sensitivity and Togo packaging guidelines
- Complies with all food safety rules, laws, protocols, and standards
- Places expo-ready food packaged correctly using appropriate zoning standards
- Keeps updated on recipe changes. Ensures proper execution of recipe procedures to maintain a high quality and consistent product
- Keeps entire kitchen clean, stocked and sets up rotation
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems with proper coaching to staff
- Completes prep work for stocking and set up of station. Breaks down and cleans station thoroughly daily
- Cleans and sanitizes throughout shift
- Ensures proper rotation of product. Labels, day dots and signs all products as necessary
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly informed on all problems and unusual matters of significance. Takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
- Completes Truck order and any other deliveries on time
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by supervisor
- Must love seeing guests return again and again because of the good work you do making the guest experience extraordinary
Requirements:
You have to love people. A TGI Fridays General Manager must possess superb communication and customer service skills necessary because you’re going to be connecting with a diverse customer base and motivating a top-performing team. Our ideal General Manager has a wealth of experience managing a restaurant and with a strong business acumen, managing P&L, budgets, and financial projections. Specific requirements for the General Manager include:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Restaurant KM or AGM
- Possess business acumen and ability to manage P&L, budgets and financial projections and analysis
- Must be capable of performing all functions and meeting all qualification standards for all hourly positions
- Knowledge of back-office systems to fulfill management functions
- Knowledge of Third-Party delivery order systems
- Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift
- Frequent bending and stooping required

General Manager
ROLE PURPOSE
To lead a team of Restaurant Managers and Team Members in the execution of an excellent Guest experience resulting in increasing Guest counts, sales and MOP growth. To ensure decisions and actions are in alignment with the Credo and Values and all TGI Fridays standards are met. To select, coach and develop Team Members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manages all day-to-day restaurant operations with a focus on delivering a great Guest experience; directly supervise and support 36 Managers and all FOH and BOH hourly Team Members; manages all profit and loss centers.
Aligns all behavior with the Credo and Values.
Executes on all brand standards through managing and coaching Team Members and Managers.
Frequently interacts with Guests to ensure they receive the Fridays Service Style experience; follow up on any issues and complaints they may have to ensure Guest Satisfaction.
Follows the Bubble Theory to proactively run a shift and anticipate Guest needs.
Follows the Hamburger Stand Theory, ensuring that the restaurant and staff are set up for an outstanding shift.
Identifies opportunities to drive sales, traffic and return visits with a 4-wall mentality; oversee implementation of local store marketing and national marketing promotions.
Determines current and future staffing needs in the restaurant to ensure an adequate number of talented Team Members are available to deliver a great Guest experience.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year college degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Restaurant KM or AGM with extensive knowledge of Friday's recipes, policies, standards, theories and successful results with past responsibilities
- Possess business acumen and ability to manage P&L, budgets and financial projections and analysis
- Must be capable of performing all functions and meeting all qualification standards for all hourly positions
