Position Summary
The Millworks Associate/General Carpentry/Column & Shutter Production/Fabricator is responsible for fabrication and assembly of custom milled products, including shutters, columns, and other residential home exterior trim. The Millworks Associate is an individual who wants to work with their hands to create high-quality products that meet the Southern Exteriors standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure efficient use of material
- Load raw materials
- Trim parts to exact specifications after removal from CNC table
- Assembly of milled pieces into final products
- Sort and load material to ready for shipping
- Keep area and equipment properly serviced, clean and in good working condition
- Perform other duties which may include cross-training in related positions
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in all related work – assembly work, carpentry, general construction or similar is required
- Previous experience using hand tools, nail guns and cutting tools is required
- Previous experience working with CNC tooling is a plus
- Ability to comprehend, construct, and interpret diagrams, and shop drawings for the task being done.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. moving, stacking and staging material and finished product
- Attention to detail and focus on making quality products
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to multi-task and work in a high-energy environment
- Self-motivated, energetic, hardworking, reliable, and safety conscious.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work overtime as needed on occasion.
Environment:
- Warehouse-type environment - concrete floors, not temperature controlled.
- Dust from wood manufacturing may be present.
- Noise conditions and moving machinery
