As a member of the Finance Team, the Manager of General Accounting will manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and staff to ensure payments and collections per the terms of the Company. Assist the finance department broadly in the preparation of management reporting, tax reporting, and public reporting through periodic filings. Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries related to monthly closing and reporting.

• Manage accounts payable staff responsible for facilitation of payments to the Company’s business partners and reconciling the activities of A/P; review and approve payments.
• Assist Corporate Controller and CFO in drafting and filing of public company reports.
• Work with insurance agent on applications, renewals and claims.
• Prepare and file monthly Sales and Use tax reporting and annual 1099 reporting; communicate with tax departments regarding correspondence; communicate with external auditors regarding audit and tax related issues.
• Account reconciliations and associated financial reporting of A/P and gift card accounts.
• Research and resolution of accounting issues.
• Compare actual vs budgeted results and provide insight into variances.
• Maintain and initiate new customer accounts for billing purposes.
• Reconcile intercompany balances.
• Supervise staff; determine staffing requirements for tasks and backup, conduct performance evaluations, and confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.

• Compensation for an offer of the Manager of General Accounting position will typically be in the bottom half of the wage range, whereas a selected candidate with extensive experience may be classified as a Director with compensation in the top half of the stated range.
