For nearly 20 years the Chimney Rock Gem Mine has been a fun attraction that has brought smiles to thousands of children and rockhounds from all over the world. As a Gemstone Mining Guide & Sales Representative, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, building relationships with customers, and driving sales in an attraction environment. Your duties will include:

• Welcoming visitors and explaining the gemstone bucket mining experience
• Assisting visitors in purchasing a bucket of dirt for mining
• Demonstrating how to use the provided tools to sift through the material
• Identifying and explaining the various types of gemstones that visitors may find
• Ability to work outside & make buckets.
• Providing information about the geology and mining history of the area
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Ensuring the safety of visitors and addressing any concerns or questions that arise
• Collaborating with other staff members to provide a high-quality visitor experience

Additional requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
• At least 2 years of sales experience, preferably in a retail environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour
