Job Summary
What You'll Do:
Monitors, analyzes and controls gas pressures, flows, and communications using SCADA Computer System. Provides specific advice and direction regarding results of analysis.

- Monitor and control gas pressures and flows using remote control valves, regulators, compressors, and field personnel.
- Analyze gas control data to optimize daily supply and storage plans.
- Respond to SCADA alarms by adjusting pressures and flow as needed and notifying field personnel when required.
- Analyze pipeline transmission system and recommend operational changes and maintenance issues.
- Control gas flows and pressures during repairs, pig runs (cleanings), outages, and emergencies.
- Contact field supervisors to dispatch personnel as needed to non-remote sites or during power or communication outages.
- Document remote and manual system changes and assist with system enhancements and changes in procedures.
- Communicate with in-house supply analyst and coordinate the demand with suppliers and storage partners to optimize daily supply plans.
- Provide guidance to field personnel in day-to-day operations of gas transmission, production- storage and distribution facilities during normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
- Recommend operation changes in anticipation of changing requirements which may be influenced by repairs and/or outages.
What You'll Bring:
- Basic natural gas properties, gas control procedures and protocol.
- Working knowledge of SCADA system and facilities that make up the network.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently while operating in a team environment.
- Ability to understand the "cause and effect" actions to the SCADA system.
- Ability to make independent decisions and take immediate action.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, detect errors and make decisions under pressure.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Understanding of basic gas properties.
- Minimum of 2 years in gas control, compressor, pipeline, regulator, or related field.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands*:
- Requires rotating shift work; required to work rotating weekends and/or holidays.
- Primarily an office environment.
- Physical demands include visual acuity, hearing, communicating, manual dexterity, and repetitive motions.
- Position requires the ability to use a computer, copier, fax machine (and related office equipment).
- Perform sedentary work- exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This position is a covered function regulated by 49 CFR Parts 192 (the pipeline safety rules) and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
