Job description

Small garden care company in Sandpoint seeking to add another seasonal garden crafter to our team. We are a fun group of individuals who love to garden, be outdoors, and work hard in a team setting. Work tasks include creating and building natural stone patios & walkways, small natural stone walls & planters, building vegetable raised beds, designing and planting new garden beds, building soil, planting trees, veggies, annuals + perennials, and crafting with wood timbers and natural materials. Our daily work is varied as we bring backyard visions to life while also maintaining existing gardens to the highest standard. In this position you will specialize in creating garden spaces with natural materials and we are seeking someone who has, or would like to possess the knowledge of working with natural flagstone materials and local stone.

We are looking for someone who ideally knows some basics about gardening and has a working knowledge of power tools, gas saws, basic hand grading, and use of hand tools like chisels and mallets. Training will be provided on the job as we build our gardenscapes to the highest standard.

This is a physical job where we bend, stoop, shovel, rake, and lift. Once we get in a groove, the work can get fast paced. We are looking for someone to match our existing team's energy and love for the work we do. Electric and gas powered equipment will be used (masonry saws, mini loader, and plate compactor). Must be savvy around hand tools, powered tools, gas powered equipment, and take safety extremely seriously. Must know how to lift properly and take one's self care seriously. Personal health and safety is of utmost importance to our company.

Qualified candidates must have a valid drivers license and a working vehicle as we may drive to multiple garden locations in a day and your own transportation is a necessity in between jobs. Must be in good physical fitness, and have positive working attitude. Absolutely must be a team player and be willing to anticipate the tasks of your daily job without being told.

Start date for this position is May 29th. Work is full time Monday - Thursday, but we can be flexible about a 4 day, 10 hour schedule. Starting pay is $20, but skilled gardeners (folks who have worked on farms, nurseries, have their own gardens, or possess a degree in Horticulture or botany, etc.) and laborers (anyone who has built landscapes before professionally or personally) should inquire about additional pay and benefits as we would love to have you join our team of professional gardeners and crafters.

If interested, please submit a resume and answer the application questions so we can gain a little bit of insight about who you are and your talents. Thank you!
