Assistant Manager, Concessions
Salary Range:
$16.80 - $25.70
Assists the Unit Manager in providing management support to create an environment that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, customer satisfaction and high standards of service. Utilizes staff effectively to increase business, manage workload and job costs, achieve production and provide quality services to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEPENDING ON LOCATION:
· Assists unit manager with the operations staff, which includes hiring, coaching and disciplining of employees, setting daily work priorities, conducting pre-event meetings, evaluating performance and directing work assignments to ensure effective operations.
· May be assigned as Event Lead on site for multiple events.
· May assist in the preparation of event sales “recap” reports to determine overall sales and profitability of the various concession events.
· Plans and prepares work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties and tasks.
· Assists unit manager to ensure company policies and procedures are followed: to include cash handling, food handling, safety, uniform and meal/break policies.
· Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Supervises and trains employees engaged in food preparation, cash registers, taking of inventories, reconciling cash receipts, receiving deliveries or keeping daily operating records.
· Develops and maintains working relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors, student organizations, faculty, staff, and university personnel. Coordinates event operations with campus partners in Athletics and Associated Students.
· Responsible for ensuring continued compliance with all local, state and federal health, safety, alcohol and employment laws and regulations.
· Responsible for ensuring stands are fully set with ample products and staffing prior to each event.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Food Handler certificate from California preferred.
· High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); plus at least one or more years experience in mid to high volume food service operations and at least one year supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred but not required
· For Assistant Manager’s working in the Concessions department, a valid CA Driver’s License is required.
