Job description
BLS, one of the largest and most established certified public accounting firms in Delaware, is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper with a solid knowledge of accounting principles to perform full cycle bookkeeping and accounting work for small businesses and individuals in our growing Wilmington, Delaware headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Providing supervised bookkeeping services to clients using QuickBooks (online, remote access and/or desktop versions) and Xero to include: set up, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, payroll, inventory, depreciation, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, maintaining general ledger, posting adjusting journal entries and preparing reports
- Compiling information for preparation of various government returns and reports
- Maintaining communication with clients
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing results and assisting accountants with tax return preparation
Other Qualifications include:
- Two-year degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field or comparable work experience performing full cycle accounting duties
- Working knowledge of general business practices, Microsoft Office applications and accounting software (with a particular competency in QuickBooks and Xero)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, comprehension skills and good problem solving abilities
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, be thorough and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, think creatively and have initiative
- Occasional same day travel to client's office using personal vehicle
